Following the Civil War, an ex Union soldier becomes a school teacher

in Indiana, a lot of bitterness for Yankees still runs deep there.

Trouble ensues when the teacher falls for the same girl a local boy wants to marry.

Norman Foster later became a director and screenwriter, he did several of the Mr Moto series, and three of the best

CHarlie Chan movies, later several episode of Tv's Davey Crockett.

Charlotte Henry is best remembered for 1933's Alice in Wonderland, and 1934's Babes in Toyland.
